Mission
The mission of the center is to incorporate information technologies into research in order to minimise the time and energy spent for data researching. This enables more time to be dedicated to comparative studies thereby extending research horizons to incorporate new knowledge and perspectives. The application of information technologies frees researchers in the humanities to explore, correlate and discover research possibilities, essentially assisting individuals to form their research inquiry as well as promoting new research methods. In order to fulfil our mission, RCDH is operated in several aspects:
1. The Expansion of Digital Collections and Research Tools:
- Continue adding new digital collections, especially the first hand archives related to Taiwan studies
- Building referential and mining tools for research in humanities
2. Innovation of Research Paradigm
- Facilitating collaboration between humanities and IT researches to develop new research issues and methodology
- Encouraging faculty and researchers to incorporate digital archives into their teaching and research
3. Extending cooperation to increase scope and depth of digital collections:
- Cooperation with library, departments for Humanities and government offices for preserving valuable historical data
- International Collaboration
4. Publication
